Term 4 2023 Junior Engineer Class Themes

Lessons are designed around students’ interest, with themes such as interesting inventions, space, simply machines, transportation, animals and sports. Kids will learn about everything from gears, torque and friction, to science, physics, engineering and MORE!

Term 4 Theme: Prehistoric Perspectives

Step back in time with our Prehistoric Perspective Junior Engineering After-School Programme! Young explorers will embark on an exciting journey to discover the engineering marvels of the prehistoric world, building their own dino-inspired creations and unearthing the secrets of ancient engineering in a fun and educational environment.

Our Junior Engineer Class Elements

WE LEARN

Our trained Bricks 4 Kidz® teachers lead a discussion related to that day’s model. Instructional content is multi-disciplinary and designed by educators to increase student’s general knowledge and introduces engineering concepts related to the model.

WE BUILD

All of our proprietary model plans are created by Bricks 4 Kidz® educators. Week by week we build up students’ fine motor skills, critical thinking skills, design thinking and information processing skills, maths and reading skills, social skills and confidence in problem solving.

WE PLAY

Modification of their models give kids an opportunity to develop and expand their creativity. The use of motors allows children to test the boundaries of their imagination and the world around them. It is the perfect balance of education and play.

Benefits of Bricks 4 Kidz Junior Engineer Class

  • Reinforce science, technology, engineering, art and maths (STEAM) concepts
  • Develop an appreciation for how things work
  • Build self-confidence and problem-solving skills
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration
  • Spark imagination
  • Provide a safe, enriching environment to create and play

Science

Each lesson provides kids with a new scientific vocabulary. Lessons that focus on topics such as laws of motion, employ the concept of physical science, requiring children to apply what they’ve learned to their hands-on projects.

Technology

Technology implements the use of science to invent and problem solve. Children use their creativity and analytical skills to discover viable solutions to problems presented at the start of each lesson.

Engineering

Engineering uses the practical application of science to design and create. Although they may not realize it, kids use engineering skills to construct models, such as simple machines, vehicles, architecture buildings, etc.

Arts

Arts provides children with the opportunity to design, develop, construct and implement their innovative ideas. At Bricks 4 Kidz we allow children to follow their creative direction and inspire them to unleash their imagination.

Mathematics

Children are given the opportunity to invariably utilise math skills as they count, measure and build with LEGO® Bricks. Students build numeracy and problem solving skills through abstract mathematical concepts.
