LEGO® Serious Play® For Education
Promoting Problem Solving and Shared UnderstandingAdapted from the powerful communication tool, LEGO® Serious Play®, Bricks 4 Kidz® is proudly introducing LEGO® Serious Play® for Education In-School Workshops to New Zealand classrooms. The workshops will lead students through a series of challenges which promotes expression, critical-thinking and problem solving amongst peers.
Using a creative LEGO® building process as a visual and kinaesthetic communication tool, each student will have a chance to express ideas and share perspectives with the group. Our LEGO® Serious Play® facilitator will guide students through the process and ensure they feel confident in presenting their ideas and contributions.
What is LEGO® Serious Play®
LEGO® Serious Play® is a facilitation technique that uses a combination of personal focus through LEGO model creation, the creation of meaning through story-telling and structured sequences of active listening, engagement, and story-making.
Building connections in the hand builds connections in the mind for improved problem recognition, knowledge creation, and shared understanding.
The LSP Process
LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology combines visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles into one uniquely creative and powerful approach. It teaches people to think with their hands and better communicate their ideas, allowing a greater flow of information.
By building visual metaphors in Lego, and explaining the meanings of the model, LSP supports deeper insights into problems and unlocks more creative solutions through storytelling, meaning-making, and experimentation.

LEGO® Serious Play® for Classrooms
The Bricks 4 Kidz LEGO® Serious Play® facilitator works with teachers to engage students in topics such as gratitude, integrity, growth mindset, or bullying. Topics may also form part of the student’s larger learning inquiry.
Students will leave the workshops with an increased sense of confidence in their ability to communicate ideas and an awareness of the power of shared understanding.
LEGO® Serious Play® for Teachers
LEGO® Serious Play® workshops are available for teachers too, designed to improve inter-team communication and address challenges facing teaching staff.
Workshop participants will leave with skills to communicate more effectively, to engage their imagination more readily, and to approach their work with increased confidence, commitment and insight.
