Meet our Bricks4Kidz Teachers!

Our teachers are dedicated to encouraging the learning of our students. Take the time to learn a little about them and why they were interested in being a part of Bricks4Kidz!

My name is Nic, and I’m currently in my third year of a Mechatronics Engineering and Design conjoint degree at the University of Auckland. Having grown up playing with LEGO it’s nice to be able to help the kids bring their creations to life and see them using their imagination to extend the builds in their own unique ways. Personally, I find the most important aspect of learning is to have fun as this is where you are able to learn the most, therefore I try bring this to every class. Outside of teaching I am a passionate kite surfer and water sports enthusiast.

 My name is Yu Chen, I’m a computer systems engineering student at the University of Auckland. I’m passionate about technology and enjoy passing on my knowledge to students here at Bricks4Kidz. In my spare time I love listening to music, playing badminton, and playing games with friends.

Kia Ora, My name is MK (Mary Kristin) and I am one of the teachers in Bricks4Kidz . I recently graduated from the University of Auckland with BSci, majoring in Psychology. I am also a full-time early childhood teacher. My passion for working with younger people comes from the belief that the developmental years have a significant impact on their life. As a teacher, I hope to enhance their skills and support them discover their potential, but with a twist of having fun and enjoyment, a.k.a, building with Lego! Apart from being a Teacher, I enjoy hiking, baking/cooking, and exploring new places.

Hi, I’m  Jordan and I’m a teacher at Bricks 4 Kidz. I usually teach virtual 3D and BricQ 9+. I am currently studying for a Bachelor of Creative Technology at Auckland University of Technology. I enjoy being creative with a passion for game design and robotics. When I am not teaching, I enjoy 3d modelling, collecting Lego and nerf guns and gaming.

 Hi, my name is Verend, I’m one of the teachers at Bricks 4 kidz. I graduated with a Diploma of Hospitality Management and am  currently working full time at a café. I wanted to be part of the B4K team as I enjoy my time teaching the kids, building LEGOs and having fun with them. My main goal is to help the kids develop their problem-solving skills and creativity. In my spare time I enjoy strolls on the beach, watching movies and photography.

Kia Ora, my name is Luca and I am one of the teachers at Bricks4kidz. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Arts majoring in political science and media at the university of Auckland. I grew up playing with Lego so I enjoy being able to teach our kids new STEAM Concepts through Lego. Outside of teaching and study I am a keen Sailor.

My name is Skyler and I’ve been a huge fan of Lego from a very young age. I’ve recently finished highschool and am studying at media design school next year. I love creating things and seeing all the creative ideas kids come up with here at Bricks4kidz, sometimes at the end of the day I find myself being inspired by some of their creations. My hobbies include drawing, movies and of course Lego!

My name is Afsha and I have been a teacher for Bricks 4 Kidz for almost 2 years. It’s been amazing growing with Bricks 4 Kidz, especially this year with the new strategy of virtual education. I’m currently a final year Bachelor of Science student at the University of Auckland. Working with children and helping the community has always been my passion. I’m also planning to develop my knowledge on working with children more. I enjoy working for Bricks 4 Kidz quite a lot because I get to experience my own passion while working and of-course learning some new things from our little builders!!!! On my off duties, you will find me helping the community. I enjoy reading and boot camp!!!!

My name is Daniel, and I am a final year computer science student studying at the University of Auckland. I am passionate about programming and the future of technology. I hope to bring interests to this area of study by teaching the younger generations how fun programming can be through Lego robotics. Outside of work I love playing badminton, hanging out with friends, and meeting new people.

Kia ora! My name is Joel and I’m one of the teachers here at Bricks4Kidz. I’m currently studying towards a Bachelor of Arts majoring in politics and media studies. I love Lego and being able to use it as a tool for learning. In my free time I play guitar, coach hockey and box.

Hello! My name is Sama and I’ve been one of the teachers at Bricks4Kidz. I graduated from AUT earlier this year with a Bachelor of Business and am now beginning a summer internship at Vodafone. As a teacher, I value and strive to make my classes as fun as they are educational. I believe this balance is what allows children to express themselves creatively and intellectually. Aside from teaching, my passions are playing football and video games.
